About Cultural Connections York

Cultural Connections York CIC works to support under-represented communities and promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Through community engagement, cultural awareness and partnership working, the organisation helps strengthen connections between communities and organisations.

With experience in leadership, community development and health inequalities, the organisation works with public, private and third sector partners to help create more inclusive services and opportunities for all.

Our Work

We support communities and organisations through a range of activities designed to promote inclusion, cultural understanding and community wellbeing. This includes creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to come together, share experiences and build positive relationships. Through workshops, community events, training sessions and collaborative initiatives, we help individuals and groups develop greater awareness, confidence and mutual respect. Our work aims to reduce isolation, celebrate diversity and strengthen connections so that communities feel more inclusive, supportive and resilient. Our Cultural Awareness and Lived Experience training equips organisations to build cultural competence, foster inclusive workplaces, and deliver services that are truly fit for purpose and responsive to the needs of the communities they serve.

Community Recognition

The organisation’s work has been recognised locally through nominations and awards for its contribution to community development and inclusive community initiatives, including recognition in the Community Pride Awards.
